Each Payment Gateway has its own settings and requirements and must be configured individually. Follow this guide to configure your Braintree Payment Gateway. Configure this Payment Gateway per Project to connect your Payment Gateway to one specific Project at a time or configure this Payment Gateway for your entire VanillaSoft account and automatically apply the settings to any current or new Projects.
Note: If you have a Payment Gateway configured on an account level, then add a configuration to a specific Project, the Project level configuration will override the account-level configuration for that one Project. No other Projects will be affected.

Configure Payment Gateway for your Entire VanillaSoft Account
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- From the menu at the top, select Account.
- Select Payment Gateway from the menu bar.
- Check the Enable a payment gateway to be setup for each individual Project checkbox if desired.
- Open the Payment Gateway drop-down and select Braintree.

Select the desired Gateway Mode.
- Braintree’s payment gateway gives you the ability to work in ‘Sandbox’ mode, allowing you to make test credit card payments with a Braintree test credit card. Once everything is working as planned, be sure to switch to ‘Production’ mode before you go live.

Enter your Braintree Merchant ID.
- If you're unsure what your Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key are, visit this Braintree article to obtain these credentials.
- Enter your Braintree Public Key.
- Enter your Braintree Private Key.
- Click Validate.
- Once the validation is successful, open the Merchant Account dropdown and select a merchant account.
- Open the Currency drop-down and select either $, € or £ as desired.
- If you accept recurring payments, check the Allow Recurring Payments checkbox.
- In the Fields section, select which fields you would like to be Required and Visible.
- Once done, click Save.
Configure Payment Gateway per Individual Project
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- Select the desired Project.
- Open the Integration menu and select Payment Gateway.
- Open the Payment Gateway drop-down and select Braintree.

Select the desired Gateway Mode.

Configure Page Layout
Once your Payment Gateway has been successfully configured, you will need to enable the CC Payment form to be used by the Callers. Follow these steps to enable the CC Payment form:
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- Select the desired Project.
- Open the Page Layout menu and select Panel Layout.
- Open the Available Tabs drop-down and select CC Payment.
- Open the Panel drop-down and select which panel you would like CC Payment to appear.
- Click Add.
- Once done, click Save.
Callers will now have the ability to select the CC Payment tab and accept payments into your Braintree account.
