Customizing Phone Fields

By default, VanillaSoft has 3 phone fields being Business, Mobile, and Home but can be modified to suit your specific needs. You have the option to rename the existing fields, add/remove fields, set which field can receive SMS messages, allow the option to include an extension, and set the order the fields are shown on the Caller side. In order to make these changes, you will need to have Admin access. 

 

Change Phone Field Name

  1. Login to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
  2. Select the project you would like to make the changes in.
  3. From the menu at the top, select Field Customization, then Phone Fields from the drop-down.
  4. Make desired changes to the fields, then click Save.

 

Adding Phone Fields

  1. Login to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
  2. Select the project you would like to make the changes in.
  3. From the menu at the top, select Field Customization, then Phone Fields from the drop-down.
  4. At the top of the Phone Field list, you'll have the option to Enter a Phone Field Label.
  5. Enter the new phone field and click the green plus symbol.
  6. Once you're done making changes, click Save.

 

Your phone fields have now been updated. Reports and integration profiles within VanillaSoft will automatically be updated so there is no need to update existing fields within those sections.
