Having the ability to set your dialing profile to Progressive or Preview allows you to customize VanillaSoft to work at your speed. There are benefits to each setting to make you as efficient as possible when calling contacts. This setting can be configured for an entire project or individually per user.

Progressive

Progressive dialing is more of an auto-dialing setting. While set to Progressive, your phone will automatically call the contact that is routed to you without you having to initiate the call manually. This cuts down on time between calls and allows you to get on the next call much faster.

Preview

Preview dialing requires you to click the phone icon beside the contact's number in order to make the call. As this is more of a click-to-dial function, it allows you to review the contact before calling. This way you can read previous emails/notes, listen to any recordings, or just take a moment, then initiate the call when you're ready.

Project Default

If your dialing setting is set to Project Default, this means your profile will adhere to whatever setting is set in the Dialing & Recording section of the project. There are only 2 options to chose from, Preview or Progressive, but the setting is determined on a project-wide basis instead of your individual profile setting.

Note: Configuring your Dialing setting in your profile will take precedence over the project setting.

Configuring for a project

1. Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
2. Open the desired project.
3. From the top menu, select Dialing & Recording.
4. Open the Dialing drop-down and select Preview or Progressive.
5. Once done, click Save.

Configuring for a user as an Admin

1. Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
2. From the top-left, select Users.
3. Click on the username of the user you would like to configure.
4. Scroll down to the Dialing Information section.
5. Open the Dialing drop-down and select Project Default, Progressive, or Preview.
6. Once done, click Save.

Configuring for yourself as a Caller

1. Log in to VanillaSoft as a Caller.
2. Click your username in the top-right corner.
3. Select Dialing Info from the menu on the left.
4. Open the Dialing drop-down and select Project Default, Progressive, or Preview.
5. Once done, click Save.

Once the above has been completed, it will take effect when the next contact is routed. There is no need to log out and back in to either VanillaSoft nor VS Connect.
