Configure Email Account for USHA Agents

Configure your Email Account within VanillaSoft to be able to send emails from your US Health Advisors email address. Configuring your email access is a requirement for any @ushadvisors.com email addresses.

What is SMTP?

An SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server allows you to send, receive, and relay outgoing mail between email senders and receivers. The SMTP server verifies that the outgoing email is from an active account, acting as the first line of defence in protecting your inbox from illegitimate email. It will also return any undelivered email to the sender, giving the reason why the email did not go through. Without an SMTP server, your email wouldn't make it to its destination.

 

Setup Email Account as an Admin

  1. Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.

  2. From the menu at the top, select Users.

  3. Click on the username you wish to configure.

  4. Select the Email Account tab at the top.

  5. Enter smtp.sendgrid.net in the Host/Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field.

  6. Enter your firstname.lastname in the Account Name/User Name field.

    • This should be the same as the local part of your email address.

  7. Enter your password in the Password field.

    • This is the same password you use to log in to your US Health email account

  8. Enter 587 in the Port field.

  9. Check the Use SSL checkbox.

  10. Once done, click Save & Validate Configuration.

  11. If successful, you should see the Status is Active, and the Validation is Pass.

You are now finished and can navigate away from this page.

 

Setup Email Account as a Caller

  1. Log in to VanillaSoft as a Caller.

  2. Click on your username in the top-right corner.

  3. Select My Email Account from the left-hand pane.

  4. Enter smtp.sendgrid.net in the Host/Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field.

  5. Enter your firstname.lastname in the Account Name/User Name field.

    • This should be the same as the local part of your email address.

  6. Enter your password in the Password field.

    • This is the same password you use to log in to your US Health email account

  7. Enter 587 in the Port field.

  8. Check the Use SSL checkbox.

  9. Once done, click Save & Validate Configuration.

  10. If successful, you should see the Status is Active, and the Validation is Pass.

You are now finished and can navigate away from this page.

 

Note: When you send an email to a contact, the 'From' address will be the email address listed in your Email field in your User Profile (to find out how to change the information listed here, take a look at our How To Change Your Personal Information article). When someone replies to your email, it will go directly to the mailbox of that email address. Further conversations would be had now from your email account. Any emails you receive will not be stored or available in VanillaSoft.
