Download and Login to X-Lite

X-Lite is a 3rd party softphone that can be used with your VanillaSoft VoIP line. X-Lite allows for multiple stations to be used for the same phone number.

Note: VanillaSoft does not support X-Lite. We can give our best attempt to assist with any setup or troubleshooting. For softphone support from VanillaSoft, you would have to use VS Connect (click here for article). If you require support for X-Lite, please reach out to the manufacturer, CounterPath.


To Download X-Lite

To download X-Lite, click here. You will see an option to download a version for Windows and Mac. Select the appropriate version to proceed. 


To Login to X-Lite

Once X-Lite has been installed, click on Softphone and then Account Settings and enter your VoIP line's account information. If you do not have this information, contact technical support and it can be provided to you.


To Configure VanillaSoft Profile for X-Lite Dialing

Now that X-Lite is installed and you're logged in, you are able to make calls directly from X-Lite. If you wish to use VanillaSoft's 'Click-To-Dial' feature, you will need to configure your profile for X-Lite. To do this, follow these steps:

1. While logged in to the caller side, click on your username in the top-right corner of the screen.
2. Select Dialing Info from the left-hand pane.
3. For the Line Type, select SIP.
4. For the Line Provider, select Bria.
5. Click Save and go back to your caller page.
6. X-Lite should now be configured to dial with VanillaSoft.
