Adding a VanillaSoft VoIP line to a User's profile will allow the User to make calls from VanillaSoft. A User must have a VanillaSoft VoIP line to take advantage of features such as SMS, VMDrop, Auto-Dialing, and many more. If you have not yet added the User to your Users list, you must first create the profile. If you are unfamiliar with this process, please follow our How to Add a New User article. Once you generate the VanillaSoft VoIP line, the User will need to download and install VS Connect if they have not already done so. Please review our Download and Install VS Connect article to guide you through the required steps.

Create a Direct VoIP Line for a User
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- Select Users from the top menu.
- Select the desired User.
- Scroll down to the Dialing Information section and select Create New VS VoIP Line.
- Open the Line Type drop-down and select Direct Line.
- Open the State drop-down and select the desired State.
- Open the Area Code drop-down and select the desired Area Code.
- If the User requires SMS ability, enable the SMS Text Messaging checkbox.
- Once your configuration is complete, select Create New Line.
- Select Confirm on the confirmation box.
- If SMS was enabled, select Ok on the You have successfully enabled SMS window.
- You should now see the Dialing Information section filled in with the new VoIP information.
Create a VoIP Line Extension with SMS for a User
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- Select Users from the top menu.
- Select the desired User.
- Scroll down to the Dialing Information section and select Create New VS VoIP Line.
- Open the Line Type drop-down and select Extension.
- Enter the desired range in the Show available extensions in range fields then select GO.
- Open the Available Extensions drop-down and select the desired Extension.
- Check the SMS Text Messaging checkbox.
- Open the State drop-down and select the desired State.
- Open the Area Code drop-down and select the desired Area Code.
- Once your configuration is complete, select Create New Line.
- Select Confirm on the confirmation box.
- Select Ok on the You have successfully enabled SMS window.
- You should now see the Dialing Information section filled in with the new VoIP information.
Create a VoIP Line Extension without SMS for a User
- Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
- Select Users from the top menu.
- Select the desired User.
- Scroll down to the Dialing Information section and select Create New VS VoIP Line.
- Open the Line Type drop-down and select Extension.
- Enter the desired range in the Show available extensions in range fields then select GO.
- Open the Available Extensions drop-down and select the desired Extension.
- Once your configuration is complete, select Create New Line.
- Select Confirm on the confirmation box.
- You should now see the Dialing Information section filled in with the new VoIP information.
