Gong is a third-party software that leverages AI to analyze contact interactions and provide actionable insights by capturing and analyzing conversations across various communication channels to help drive increased revenue. The integration with VanillaSoft allows Account Admins and Admin Combos to connect a Gong account to a VanillaSoft project, enabling the transfer of call recordings directly from VanillaSoft to Gong.
Prerequisites

You must have a paid Gong account. For more information, visit Gong.

The account must have VanillaSoft VoIP enabled to use the Gong integration.
- The Gong Integration must first be enabled on your VanillaSoft account. Please get in touch with your Customer Success Representative for more details.
Accessing Gong Integration
All Account Admins have default access to the Gong setup page. Admin Combos need access enabled manually.

Log in to VanillaSoft: From the Admin homepage, select the Users section from the top menu.

Select Admin Combo User: Search for and select the Admin Combo username you wish to modify.

Modify Permissions: Open the Admin Permissions tab at the top of the user’s profile.

Enable Gong Integration: In the Integrations section, check the Allow the Admin access to the Gong integration checkbox.

Save Changes: Click Save.
Integrating Gong with a Project
Gong integration is done at the project level, so each VanillaSoft project must be manually integrated with Gong. The same Gong account can be used in multiple VanillaSoft projects.

Log in to VanillaSoft: From the Admin homepage, select the desired project.

Open Integration Menu: Open the Integration menu, then select the Gong section.
- Note: If the Gong section is missing for an Admin Combo, an Account Admin must grant permission by following the steps in the "Allow Admin Combo access to Gong integration" section above.

Enter Gong Administrator Email: Enter your Gong Technical Administrator account email.

Connect Account: Click Connect.

Authorize Integration: Click Allow on the Gong confirmation pop-up.
- Note: Configure which recordings are sent to Gong by following the steps below to enable sending user call recordings to Gong.
Enabling Sending User Call Recordings to Gong

Log in to VanillaSoft: From the Admin homepage, select the desired project.

Open Integration Menu: Open the Integration menu, then select the Gong section.
- Note: If the Gong section is missing for an Admin Combo, an Account Admin must grant permission by following the steps in the "Allow Admin Combo access to Gong integration" section above.

Manage Gong Users: In the "Manage Gong Users" section, check the Send Recording to Gong checkbox next to the desired username.
- Note: Only VanillaSoft users with VanillaSoft VoIP and Call Recording active can use this integration. The Manage Gong Users section will only display these users.

Save Changes: When finished, click Save.
Accessing Gong Recordings and Analytics

Log in to VanillaSoft: From the Admin homepage, select the desired project.

Open Dialing & Recording Menu: Open the Dialing & Recording menu, then select the Audio Review section.

Search Call Recordings: Enter the desired search criteria for your call recordings query, then click Search.

Access Gong Recordings: Click the Gong icon beside the desired recording.
- Note: This icon only appears if the user has "Send Audio to Gong" active in the Manage Gong Users section of the Integration menu.
