If you're experiencing issues with your microphone on a Mac while using VS Connect, it may be due to insufficient permissions for the application to access your devices. This guide explains how to allow VS Connect to use your microphone. If you're unsure whether it's a permission issue or something else, first test your microphone with another program. If it works with that program but not with VS Connect, it's likely due to permission settings.
Steps to Allow VS Connect Permission
- Open System Preferences: Click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen and select System Preferences.
- Access Security & Privacy: Go into the Security & Privacy section.
- Select Privacy Tab: At the top, select the Privacy tab.
- Unlock Settings: At the bottom-left of the window, click the lock icon and enter your credentials to allow changes.
- Select Microphone: From the list of options on the left, select Microphone.
- Enable VS Connect: Check the box next to VS Connect.
You should now have microphone access within VS Connect. You may click back on the lock if you wish, but changes will take effect either way. If your microphone still doesn't work properly, take a look at our Troubleshooting Common Call Issues article for further troubleshooting steps.
