In order to create a Zap between VanillaSoft and another application using Zapier, you must first have a Zapier account.

Understanding how VanillaSoft works with Zapier

The VanillaSoft integration with Zapier gives the ability to either:

• Set VanillaSoft as a trigger in Zapier so each time an agent results a Contact in VanillaSoft, data is immediately sent to Zapier to pass to another application.

  ---

• Set VanillaSoft as an action in Zapier, so data from another application into Zapier will push to VanillaSoft as either a new Contact or an update to an existing Contact.

When creating either a Trigger or an Action in Zapier, look for “VanillaSoft Beta” in the search menu:

Generating an Integration Key in VanillaSoft

The User creating a Zap to be used with VanillaSoft will be required to enter a unique VanillaSoft integration key. The integration key can be generated either by Project or by User. Follow the steps below to generate an integration key.

Integration Key for a specific Project in VanillaSoft

1. Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.

2. Select the desired Project.
   
   

   ---

3. Click the gear icon beside the Project name.
   
   

   ---

4. Click the Generate Key button at the bottom of the Project Integration Key section.
   
   

   ---

5. Click Copy Key to use in Zapier.
   

Integration Key for a specific Admin in VanillaSoft

1. Log in to VanillaSoft as an Admin.
   
   

   ---

2. Select Users from the top menu.
   
   

   ---

3. Enter the desired username in the Search Users field.
   
   

   ---

4. Hit Enter or click the magnifying glass to search for the desired User.
   
   

   ---

5. Click on the desired username.
   
   

   ---

6. Select the Integration Key tab at the top.
   
   

   ---

7. Click the Generate Key button at the bottom of the Integration Key section.

8. Click Copy Key to use in Zapier.
   

Note: If you generate the key for an Admin other than yourself, you will need to share it with that Admin before using it in Zapier.

Who should the VanillaSoft integration key be generated for:

• An integration key generated for a VanillaSoft Account-Admin gives that Admin access to all VanillaSoft projects in Zapier.

  ---

• An integration key generated for a VanillaSoft Admin-Combo may not have access to all VanillaSoft projects in Zapier, depending on whether the Admin-Combo is restricted to certain projects in VanillaSoft.

Tip: Although it is possible to generate integration keys for multiple Admins, the best practice is to generate one integration key for the Admin who will do the Zapier setup.
