Voice prompts in Vanillasoft VoIP allow you to play recorded or text-to-speech audio messages for callers. Prompts are commonly used for auto attendants, greetings, queues, and other call-handling features.
This article explains how to create a voice prompt in the Vanillasoft VoIP portal, including naming the prompt, choosing an audio source, and saving it for use in call routing.
Create a Voice Prompt

-
Open the Telephony menu from the main navigation.
-
Select Prompts.
-
Click New to create a new prompt.
-
Enter a clear, descriptive name for the prompt or greeting. This name is used internally for identification.
-
If using text-to-speech, enter the message you want callers to hear. The audio will be generated using Google AI.
-
Choose how the prompt audio will be provided.
- Upload an audio file.
- Record the prompt directly in the portal.
- Use the text-to-speech message entered above.
-
If using text-to-speech, select the desired AI voice from the voice dropdown.
-
When finished, click Save to apply the prompt, or click Save and Continue to save your changes and begin building another prompt.
After saving, the prompt is immediately available for use in auto attendants, queues, greetings, and other call-handling features.
Your voice prompt is now ready to use and can be selected wherever audio playback is required within Vanillasoft VoIP.
