Setting Up Phone Number Verification for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
When MFA is enabled for a VanillaSoft account, users will need to verify their phone number for an additional layer of security. Here's how to set up a phone number with MFA:
- Log in to VanillaSoft: Enter your username and password as usual.
- Verify Phone Number: After logging in, a new module will pop up prompting you to enter a phone number. This will happen the first time you log in after MFA has been enabled, regardless of whether you are a new user or an existing user.
- Enter Phone Number: Input your phone number where you can receive an SMS code.
- Send Verification Code: Click "Send Me A Code" to receive a verification code via text message.
- Enter Verification Code: Input the verification code you received. The screen will automatically progress once the code is confirmed, and your phone number will be added to your profile.
- Access VanillaSoft: Click "Go To VanillaSoft" to proceed to your VanillaSoft account.
Note: Once your phone number is verified, you will use this method for future logins to provide an additional layer of security to your account.
