Temporarily Disabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for a User
If a user is unable to receive an SMS for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) verification, an administrator can provide temporary access by disabling MFA for the user. Here's how to do it:
- Log in as an Administrator: Access your VanillaSoft account with administrative rights.
- Navigate to Users: From the top menu, go to the Users section. You may need to use the search feature to find the specific username.
- Select User: Click on the username of the user that you want to temporarily disable MFA.
- Disable MFA: Once within the User Profile, click the Temporarily disable MFA button.
- Confirm: Click Disable MFA on the confirmation popup.
When this action is taken, the user will not require validation for the next 10 hours. This temporary measure should allow the user to access their account and resolve any issues with receiving SMS messages for MFA verification.
