Stay connected on the go with SMS notifications! Setting up this feature for your VanillaSoft VoIP line ensures you're always in the loop, even when away from your computer. You'll receive a notification directly on your cell phone when someone sends you a text message. This alert provides all the essential details, including the sender's number, the time of the message, and the message content.
Note: Suppose you want to respond to the sender immediately. In that case, you must reply from within VanillaSoft or the Vanilla VoIP portal. Replying to the notification from your cell phone won't go to the contact. And, if you choose to message them directly from your cell, your number will be displayed, not your VanillaSoft VoIP number.
Enable SMS Notifications
- Log in to your VanillaSoft VoIP portal.
- Navigate to the Features category in the left-hand menu and select Notifications.
- Click the Add New button.
- In the Notification Type list, check the Text Message Notification Text Message checkbox.
- Note: You can choose multiple options but might need to provide additional destination information in the next step.
- Enter the destination phone number in the Text Number field.
- Once you're finished, click Save.
