Save your Spreadsheet as a .CSV File

To import contacts to VanillaSoft from a spreadsheet, you must first ensure that the spreadsheet is saved as a .CSV file. Follow the steps below to save your spreadsheet as a .CSV file to allow you to import your contacts to VanillaSoft.

Note: The steps below are for Microsoft Excel 365. Other programs may have different steps but should still be able to save as a .CSV file.

 

Save your Spreadsheet as a .CSV File

  1. Within your spreadsheet, click File listed in the top-left corner.

  2. Select Save As from the left-hand pane.

  3. Enter the desired file name, then open the File Type drop-down.

  4. Select CSV (Coma delimited) (*.csv) from the file type list.

  5. Once done, click Save.

Repeat the above steps for all sheets you would like saved. Once your file is saved as a .CSV file, you can now run through the import process listed in our How to Import Contacts article to import your contacts to VanillaSoft.
