Managing Caller Permissions for Switching Projects and Teams
As an Admin in VanillaSoft, you have the control to manage whether Callers can switch between different Projects and Teams. This flexibility allows you to maintain structured access according to organizational needs and Caller responsibilities.
Understanding Caller Permissions
- Restricted Switching: If a Caller does not have the "Allow Switching" option enabled, they can only access the Projects and Teams to which they have been assigned.
- Enabled Switching: Callers with "Allow Switching" enabled can move between any Projects or Teams they have permissions for. To adjust which Projects or Teams a Caller can access, refer to our Managing User Access and Restrictions article for detailed instructions.
Steps to Configure Switching Ability
-
Navigate to User Management: From the admin homepage, select Users from the top menu.
-
Locate the User: Scroll through the user list or use the Search function to find the specific user you wish to assign to a project.
-
Adjust Switching Permissions: Check or uncheck the Allow Switching checkbox as desired.
-
Save the Changes: Click Save to apply the new settings.
Ensuring Changes Take Effect
-
User Refresh: Inform the Caller that they may need to refresh their page, or log out and log back in, to see the changes take effect. This ensures that the updated permissions are correctly loaded.
-
Switching Instructions for Callers: Callers can review the How To Switch Projects or Teams article for guidance on how to navigate between different projects and teams once the switching ability is configured.
By managing these permissions, you ensure that Callers have the appropriate level of access to various projects and teams, aligning with their roles and the operational strategies of your organization. This control helps maintain efficiency and ensures that resources are utilized effectively within your VanillaSoft environment.
