Use VMDrops During Calls
Use VMDrop in Vanillasoft (auto-disconnect)
- Initiate Call: When a contact does not answer, wait for their voicemail greeting to begin.
-
Select VMDrop:
- If you have one VMDrop, click the VMDrop label shown under the contact’s phone number.
- If you have multiple, open Voice Drop and choose the desired VMDrop.
- Automatic Disconnection: The call disconnects automatically if the VMDrop is applied successfully.
Manually Drop a VMDrop from VS Connect
- Call the Contact: Place the call from VS Connect.
- Wait for the Greeting: As soon as you hear the contact’s voicemail greeting begin, continue to the next step.
- Dial the VMDrop: Enter *99 followed by the VMDrop number (1–9). For example, VMDrop 1 is *991, VMDrop 2 is *992.
- Success Indicator: The call disconnects automatically when the VMDrop is applied. If the call does not disconnect, if the callee hangs up before you dial, or if you dialed *99_ before the greeting started, the drop did not apply. Hang up and try again.
- Important: VMDrops must be configured and active first. See Apply VMDrops to Your Caller Profile above before using manual drops.
Troubleshooting
Fix Common VMDrop Issues
- Call Does Not Disconnect: This can occur if you selected or dialed the VMDrop after the voicemail beep, if the network is unstable, or if the greeting had not begun. Try again, ensuring you apply the VMDrop as soon as the greeting starts. For network issues, see Troubleshooting Common Call Issues.
- Access Code Problems: If you cannot access voicemail or VMDrop menus, reset your PIN using Change Your VoIP Access Code (Voicemail PIN).
By following these steps, you can keep voicemail outreach consistent and efficient, whether you drop from within Vanillasoft or manually from VS Connect.
